Water pothos once a week in summer and every 10-14 days in winter. The soil is a better guide than the calendar: Water when the top 3 cm is dry — a slight droop is the plant asking.
Pothos is about as forgiving as houseplants get: it tolerates low light and bounces back from a missed watering. When the vines get long and bare at the base, cut them back hard — new growth breaks from near the cut and fills the pot out. Those cuttings root in water in about two weeks.
Every year or two. Cuttings root readily in a glass of water.

Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Lower leaves yellow and drop | Overwatering, or normal ageing | Water less often; if it is only a leaf or two, just remove them. |
| Variegation reverting to green | Not enough light | Move it to brighter indirect light. |
| Leggy vines with sparse leaves | Low light and no pruning | Brighter spot, and cut the vines back to force new shoots. |
