Water monstera once a week in summer and every two weeks in winter. The soil is a better guide than the calendar: Water when the top 2-3 cm of soil is dry, until it runs from the drainage hole.
Monstera wants a thorough soak followed by a real dry-down, not frequent sips. If new leaves come out without splits, the usual culprit is light โ move it a metre or two from a bright window and the next leaf will tell you. As the leaves get heavier the plant flops, so a moss pole keeps its shape.
Every couple of years in spring, moving up one pot size. Roots poking through the drainage hole are the signal.
